Welcome to the Cor-connexions website. We are in the very early stages of building this site.
(There'll be plenty of time later for fancy design and eye-catching layouts).

So what is Cor-connexions?
It is a digital community archive to display and record our thoughts, feelings, reflections, pictures, photographs, diary entries, stories, poems, art works and more .... as we find ourselves navigating a vastly different landscape and adjusting to the new normal.

We in The Field Theatre Group have a long track record in the delivery of a wide range of community engagement projects. As well as being artists, film-makers and writers, we have also created a number of high-profile history and heritage projects. So, with that in mind, we believe that it is vital to create a record of these unprecedented times.

We'd like to document all aspects of life during this pandemic. All contributions are welcome:
There is room for creative work, humour, pictorial documentary, children's art, poetry, picture diaries, anything.

We hope you'll find this site provides us with a creative outlet and a meeting space while we are separated, and will enable us to feel connected .... while temporarily living apart.

We welcome your contributions

NATHAN FINDS A WAY TO THANK THE NHS SUPERHEROES

Local professional graffiti artist Nathan Cox used his amazing skills this morning to spray up a big thank you to our NHS heroes on an abandoned truck just outside of Chittering along the A10.
In just 2 hours, he used around 40 cans of spray he bought to thank the carers who are looking after us during this difficult time.
With permission from local farmer, Nathan from ENCY Graffiti was greeted by endless toots of horns from passers by and included someone stopping to thank him and leave some water.
Nathan is a father a 3 and normally a bricklayer by trade but uses his skills to teach local kids the art of graffiti.

Littleport artist Jane Frost and her husband Tim have created a fun activity to help keep children and families amused amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Jane has designed two labyrinths into the grass on Woodfen Road.

Since Jane, who works outdoors with natural and recycled materials, and her husband Tim Frost started cutting circles on the Green last month, passers-by have become attracted by their creation.
Jane said.

‘I was aware of all the restrictions on children and families who are finding it hard to keep children busy and happy, so this is a way to support others locally. I started a month ago, cutting two circles. Cutting them took about 45 minutes and each week I have been cutting a bit more. With help from my husband Tim, we cut two labyrinths which took over an hour to cut. We haven’t measured how long the pathways are yet, but I am sure someone will soon!‘
Walking the labyrinth is a great and safe way for people to meet up and share the experience with friends or family while doing some exercise.’
The labyrinths have been increasingly popular with residents since they were highlighted on the ‘Littleport’s big eye spy’ Facebook page.
‘I invited people to use it via the local Facebook page, and families have been making use of it as part of their regular daily exercise and outdoor play. Everyone misses meeting up with friends and we all need reassurance and encouragement to be positive. I heard from one mum who is very grateful to have somewhere safe to take her children because they had begun to be afraid of going out of their garden. Mental health is more important than ever when times are uncertain, and families need to find ways to share safe spaces and good experiences.’

Jane, who also works with the charity Learning Through Landscapes to help schools make use of outdoor spaces, has received support from East Cambridgeshire District Council (ECDC) to maintain the labyrinths so that more people can benefit for longer.

‘I contacted ECDC to ask if they could leave the labyrinth and not cut it,’ she said.
‘I am really pleased that Shaun Bradshaw from the parks and open spaces team has agreed. They will continue to cut the labyrinth over the summer allowing the grass to grow longer and pathways more obvious. Pathways indicate to others that friends or family can come and walk there too, so it is a good way to share the space even if not at the same time. Cutting the grass in a pattern means cutting less, and this can be a really good way to encourage wildlife to thrive in the spaces as well.’

*Jane is running a blog to help teachers and parents with children learning from home, and works with Arts and Minds, developing resources, projects and workshops for young people and children to help understand and maintain good mental health.
We look forward to displaying
more of your
beautiful art work soon !

Duchess Camilla works from home in the most elegant pastel outfit

The Duchess of Cornwall looked chic as ever as she was pictured in her home office at Birkhall on Monday evening - we love seeing Camilla's casual outfits! It appears that the royal's at-home favourites are comfy shirts and jumpers, since she could be seen wearing a pretty pink knit and matching blouse in the new photograph, which was taken in her cosy workspace.
Camilla kept her accessories simple, wearing just her sparkling engagement and wedding rings - doesn't she look lovely?
